It's been awhile now
that I give your words
more weight than mine.
But I've reset the scale
and I'm walking away with

I need to protect myself
Respect myself
Learn again who I want to be
It's been so long that
you've had control
I've redrafted dreams
and tried to edit my soul
It just won't work (and)
now it's time for me
to love myself again

I gaze in the mirror
and try to see
the girl long ago
that used to be me
the confidence, sparkle
and firm sense of mind
I've taken back my life,
